Having followed the instructions on your firework you may decide to use a stake to add an extra level of security at the display site.

THE ADDITION OF A STAKE IS RECOMMENDED FOR EVENTS ATTENDED BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC.

Use a cloth woven adhesive tape to secure the fireworks to the stake. Gaffer is widely used within the professional firework display industry.

Set up the firework following the instructions then add a stout stake at the front of the firework and secure with at least two wraps of tape.

DO NOT USE PARCEL TAPE OR SELLOTAPE - IT MAY SHEAR.

If the firework moves or fails during firing the stake will prevent it from falling forwards towards the audience. A stake adds an additional level of safety but you must always ensure that the stake does not affect the performance of the firework by being angled over any tubes.
